Too Set In My Ways

I especially here this from women over 65. They say to me. I love the freedom to do what I want to do when I want to do it. I love my cat! or love my dog! or lighting a fire in the morning! Then I hear them say that they don’t want to get OLD alone, they want someone to laugh with and they don’t want to get isolated. So I say start now! Being alone in your 80’s could have challenges you don’t have now in your 60’s.

Being Set in Your Ways is Attractive! Or at least it can be to the right person. It is attractive when you know and love yourself. Find someone else who knows and loves themselves too. Respecting another’s “ways” and making them mesh with your “ways” is an exciting aspect of partnering later in life.

We aren’t old dogs learning new tricks. We are caring, loving people finding a way to be a team so both can be happy. Their will be compromise and you can judge whether it is worth it or not.

So why does having freedom or a cat or a dog have to be a deal breaker in finding a partner. Aren’t there potential mates who love their pet or their freedom?

What makes your daily patterns stand in the way of finding a partner or including a partner in your life? As a 60 something year old, haven’t you already stood up for yourself. Haven’t you already shown the world that you can have a life you love while being ALONE. Now show yourself how well you can communicate your needs and hear the needs of your partner. It can be fun!
